Somewhere
There is somewhere in the world
where a waterfall churns down a sinkhole
and the trees grow from the sheer sides,
high-rise homes for the exotic avians
who sing their mysticism to the sky;
just a lone circle of blue, far away.
It is here that mist is born,
but never lives to see the outside world,
instead twisting its tendrils to make
pathways for the fireflies who
light the darkly beautiful world,
another place forgotten by time.
And down, when the trees
have lost their hold on their domain,
odd crystalline structures break through
the lime of the drop, what light can reach
